So I am probably the latest person in the world but I just received my March Birchbox yesterday!
So I’ve been eyeing this box for a while and finally bit the bullet and signed up for one. Birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription service that is $10 per month. There’s also a men’s box available for $20 per month. I went on the website to request an invite to the service on March 14 and was told the wait time was around 4 weeks I believe. I got another email on March 17 saying I was in so don’t let the wait time discourage you! And it’s pretty awesome that they still sent me the March box even tough it was shipped at the beginning of the month unlike some subscription services that only send out boxes one time a month.
Once you set up your initial account you are prompted to enter information about yourself; your makeup style, your age, your skintone, your skin type, etc. so that they can do their best to match up your skin needs to the samples they send you. This month’s box has a March Madness theme and says the box is filled with “products that make the cut – from up and coming rookies to veteran all-stars” So let’s get into what’s in the box!
Whish Shave Crave Shaving Cream in Blueberry
This shave cream is made from naturally sourced and organic ingredients which I love. The blueberry scent is very pleasant and kind if makes me want to go to the grocery store and buy some berries to eat. So that’s good right; the fact that your shave cream could make you eat more fruits? Haha. This is a .75 oz sample and the full size retails for $11.
Madewell for Birchbox Nail Emery Board
Super cute emery board that will most likely make it into my purse staples in a springy floral print. If you’re not familiar with Madewell they are a clothing store that reminds me a little of J-Crew. This enery board can be purchased from Birchbox for $5.
Miss Jessie’s Original Creme de la Creme Conditioner and Miss Jessie’s Original Super Slip Sudsy Shampoo
I will be honest; I’ve gotten these samples many times before and never had the urge to try them; at the time I was still relaxing my hair. So I’m actually kind of excited I got these samples because now I can actually use them! A full size of the shampoo is around $14 and the conditioner is $16.
Sumita Color Intense Pencil in Aisha
This eye pencil is made with natural waxes and you can definitely feel that on the swatch. I rubbed and rubbed and the swatch did not smear. It’s a very pretty slightly shimmery dark teal that would be very subtle on my skin which makes this a lot more wearable. A full size pencil is $11.
Vasanti BrightenUp! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator
This is a exfoliating cleanser with very fine microdermabrasion crystals that is intended to brighten your skin. It smells pretty typical for a face wash and is also sulfate and paraben free and is also 99% natural. A full size retails for $34.
Overall I’m pretty impressed for this to be a $10 box. I’m most excited for the emery board which is kind of lame lol, the eye pencil, and the shave cream.
If you’re subscribed to any awesome monthly subscription services let me know what they are so I can feed my addiction!
