Rihanna has teamed up with MAC to create an entire collection called RiRi <3 MAC. The first release of the collection was the much anticipated “RiRi Woo” which is Rhianna’s take on the cult classic Ruby Woo matte lipstick MAC is quite famous for. I don’t own Ruby Woo and I’ve seen a lot of people on social media today upset that the shades are almost identical. I knew there would be outrage but MAC did not mislead anyone at all; the description clearly states RiRi Woo is a remix of Ruby Woo. Confused yet? Me too. So many Woos.

MAC Cosmetics RiRi Woo Lipstick swatched on NC 45 skin

As you can see RiRi Woo is has “RiRi” etched into the lipstick. Allegedly RiRi Woo is a little darker than Ruby Woo with a “Retro Matte” finish. When I put this on I immediately thought of chic women in the 1920’s with their “scandalous” red lipstick. Maybe I’m just super excited for the Great Gatsby this weekend but I actually like matte finishes. This is a tad drier than other MAC mattes. But the color is very opaque and it even stained my arm after removing the swatch so it looks like once you put this lipstick on it is not going anywhere. Yes to not having to reapply 6+ times in a day. And here’s a picture of me wearing the lipstick:

This lipstick sold out in three hours online and will be re-released in early June so if you want it be prepared to stalk MAC. The RiRi <3 MAC collections that will be out this summer, this fall, and a holiday edition will include additional lipstick shades, blushes, and more including limited edition packaging on some items.

What do you think of this lipstick? Are you going to be picking up anything from these collections?
