Divergent Limited Edition Multi-Piece Collector’s Makeup Kit |
If you’ve been paying any attention to commercials these past few months you’ll know Divergent is coming to theaters March 21st. This is the latest book to movie installment in the dystopian future society with a girl fighting against the “machine” scenario (a la Hunger Games). The series is authored by Veronica Roth and I am currently reading the trilogy so no spoilers please!

I haven’t quite reached this point in the book yet but I know the Ferris Wheel plays a part in the Dauntless Faction and the front of this set is a giant holographic Ferris Wheel. It has the word Divergent on the side where the set opens up (first picture in this post)
- Abnegation- values selflessness
- Erudite – values knowledge
- Amity – values peace
- Dauntless – values bravery
- Candor – values honesty
The books beginning premise is that the main character Beatrice is sixteen and must now choose which Faction she will belong to for the rest of her life….from the commercials you know that she ends up being branded as Divergent meaning she can fit into multiple Factions – which is dangerous in this world. This set includes eye sets for Abnegation, Dauntless, and Erudite only which if you read the book you’ll know the significance of this.

Inside the set are three eye palettes and a cheek palette stamped with the Ferris Wheel as well as four high shine lip glosses and a double ended cheek and eye brush. The set also includes Get the Look cards for the three Eye palettes.

The brush included in this set is your standard synthetic brush. I’m not a big fan of double ended brushes but this one gets the job done sufficiently well.

The eye palettes all contain four High Pigment Eye Shadows and one High Gloss Transforming Eye Shadow (can be used wet or dry) that can be snapped off and swapped between all palettes. See what they did there with the divergence? Haha. On my lids these shadows have great pigmentation, and the transforming eye shades have minimal fallout.

Each eye set comes with a mirror which is nice especially if you wanted to break the set up and gift one eye and lip look to someone. The Dauntless palette features the boldest colors in the set. The High Gloss Transforming Shadow in Diverge is one of my favorites. It’s a green with silver and gold flecks that changes depending on how the light hits it which is so pretty on the eye. Erudite Sapphire is another one of my favorites, who doesn’t love a good blue shadow?!
Divergent High-Pigmented Eyeshadow Abnegation Eye Palette |

The Abnegation palette has the colors that are least likely to draw attention to yourself which is a hallmark of the Abnegation faction; no mirrors, no self indulgence, and no vanity. This set is perfect for everyday as it contains a great brown in Bold Espresso for a crease color, great lid shades in Intrepid Moss and Golden Honesty and a subtle highlight shade in Altruistic Almond. The High Gloss shade in this set is very demure and adds just a hint of sparkle when used as a top coat over the other shadows.

The Erudite palette is also one that contains more neutral tones that you may expect from someone focused on the pursuit of knowledge. The High Gloss shade Choose is warmer than the above mentioned Transform.

Long-wear Blush Divergent Cheek Palette Obscure Coral, Misty Rose, Gleaming Pearl, Intelligent Bronze |
Blush. I am having a blush love moment in my life and I can’t get enough of ANY blush. These two shades Obscure Coral and Misty Rose are beautiful on my brown skin. I like that they included one shimmer and one matte to please everyone. The Illuminator in Gleaming Pearl is a pleasant surprise. In the pan it looks very white which can be intimidating for brown skin but swatched it has a gold reflect and when applied sheerly on the cheekbones it’s heavenly! Intelligent Bronze is pretty much my skintone…which is the story of my life with most mass market bronzers.

I’m not a huge fan of lipgloss but the packaging on these sure is cute. They also look like some of the ones Hourglass makes which makes you go hmm. As you can see they are very sheer in the swatches above and on my pigmented lips they show up even sheerer than this arm swatch. I think they would be good to use over a matte lip to give it a tiny slight hint of sparkle.
WOW! That is a lot better than I was expecting . I don’t know why, but I wasn’t expecting much from this kit. Those lip glosses look EXACTLY like the Hourglasss ones!!! I think I’ll actually pick this up. Excellent review, as always!
I’m really impressed! I didn’t have super high expectations when I first saw this (makeup tie ins tend to be hit or miss for me) but those eyeshadows!? Wowza!
I agree. They did a really good job with this one!
I was kind of iffy because I couldn’t figure out who manufactured the set but luckily it is amazing!
I want this so bad, but Sephora is sold out. I’ll have to check in stores.
I am literally walking out of a Sephora right now and they have huge displays of it in store so hopefully you can get your hands on one!
Hopefully. It’s at two Sephoras around me but I won’t be able to make the trip until Monday evening. Fingers crossed
