I had every intention of not buying from this collection. The pictures and swatches were kind of “Meh” to me as a viewer online. And then I happened to mosey on into my local MAC counter because I needed some matte eyeshadows ( a girl’s got to have her mattes) and lo and behold I fell in love with this Mineralize Eyeshadow in Bossa Blue.

These are slightly bigger than your regular MAC eyeshadows (1.5g vs 1.8g) and for that and the mineral ingredients you end up paying $6 more ($15 vs $21). Bossa Blue is very pigmented and high in the shimmer factor like pretty much every product in the Tropical Taboo Collection which is inspired by the sultry Caribbean.

It looks like a glittery version of the world in my opinion. What’s fun about the Mineralize shadows is that the veining or pattern on each one is different. The gold is the dominant color in mine while others I’ve seen are dominated by the royal blue.

Swirling the colors together gives a rich brownish gold color with a subtle blue undertone. Gorgeous! I will warn you though just like any shimmery eye shadow there is fallout to this shadow when applied. A few twinkles here and there on your face never hurt anybody!

I had to find my smallest eye brush around to be able to swatch the blue part individually but here it is! Alone the blue is beautiful and it reminds me of the Caribbean Sea. The brownish gold color is also very complimentary on my skintone. And the mixture of the colors is just to die for!
I suggest checking these out in store before you completely write off this collection; I was pleasantly surprised! Will you be checking it out?
Beautiful color. I wish you would have demonstrated the color on you eyes. I have no idea how to apply eyeshadow…Andrea @ be-quoted.com #sitssharefest
Thanks for visiting! Stay tuned; on my Youtube channel I plan on using this for a 4th of July look.
My biggest Gal is gonna love this! She’s all into make-up, especially MAC products!

Great find! I love Gold color in this – the silver undertone would make a great base color for a subtle smokey eye!
That’s a great idea! Thanks for reading.
