The other day I was strolling through my local Marshall’s and I spotted this elf palette of 32 eyeshadows for $5.99. If you’ve followed me on my YouTube channel you saw that I recently subscribed to the e.l.f. Beauty Bundle and was quite pleasantly surprised by he quality so I was interested in what quality this $5.99 palette would provide.

This has a nice selection of everyday neutrals that would be perfect any occasion and the palette does not take up a large amount of space.
Overall the shadows are somewhat difficult to blend due to their dry nature. For the most part the darkest matte shadows in this palette were a complete miss.  The shimmery shades are the winners in this palette and are really quite stunning. There is however noticeable fading after around 4 hours with these shadows so make sure you use a primer of course.

The top row of shadows is my favorite. I love the shimmery brown color and the matte brown included is not bad even if it takes a lot of swirling in the pan to pick up the color.

I also really enjoy the soft colors in the second row. The second shadow can be a bit gritty due to the size of the glitter chunks. As I mentioned before the matte shades are really hard to work with in this palette and I really had to build up the color to get it to swatch.

As far as pigmentation goes this row gave me the most trouble. I’m not sure how old this palette was when I got it but some of the colors like the third one from the left would not lift out the pan at all.

I love the bright blue shade in this part of the palette. This row was consistent in the shimmers but the mattes were a little easier to work with.

Overall – it was only $5.99 so I wasn’t expecting over the top quality so I’m pretty satisfied. I do quite enjoy the shimmer shades and use them frequently with matte shadows from another brand I own.
What do you think? Is this worth $5.99?
