Hey guys! I’m back! Moving and starting a new job has been pretty stressful the past two weeks but I hope to get back to posting more regularly soon. Today’s review is going to be of the Too Faced Pardon My French set that is new for Summer 2014.
The Pardon My French set comes in a cute blue striped makeup bag which is very chic and nautical and very french – the theme of the Summer 2014 Too Faced products is the French Riviera so this nautical theme fits right in.
Included in the set is a very mini Too Faced Shadow Insurance, a Perfect Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner in Perfect Black, and a mini Too Faced Lash Injection Extreme Volume Tubing Mascara. Out of the three I really enjoy the eyeliner; it’s the perfect matte black that actually lasts on your waterline all day. Shadow Insurance I’m still on the fence about – lots of eye primers give me the same results (it’s rare that shadow creases or fades on my lids even without primer).
The Lash Injection mascara is something I could do without in this set. I’m not really a huge fan of fat and long mascara brushes and this is both. I also didn’t think it gave off “extreme volume” as it claims to do. I find that on my lashes the fatter the brush the more likely it is to just end up on my upper eyelid and making a mess as opposed to volumizing my lash line.
The piece de resistance of this collection is the Bonjour Summer eye shadow collection. It includes 9 shades – but be advised that only two shades differ from the Summer 2014 Palette – Firefly and Sand Dollar. Now this is fine for me because I don’t own the Summer 2013 palette..but the Sephora description mentions nothing about this being an updated palette from the previous year – this information is only on the physical back of the palette. So if you own the Summer 2013 palette you’re better off buying the Too Faced A La Mode Eyes set from Summer 2014 instead – the palette has the new shade firefly and is not a dupe of previous years. Check out a side by side comparison of the A La Mode Eyes set vs The Bonjour Summer set in the video at the end of this post.
All shadows in this set tend to be pretty powdery so make sure you tap off your brush before applying to your eyes or you will have fallout. My favorite shades by far in this palette are Mermaid and Firefly. Check out a review of the A La Mode Eyes Set vs this set on my YouTube Channel below!
