Tired of the same hum-drum date spots in the city? I’ve got a couple of suggestions for you to impress him or her with your sweet date planning skills.

  • Antico Pizza Napoletana : I’ve said this before and I will say it again: take a date here! The atmosphere of the chefs twirling pizza dough and the Italian music playing in the background makes for an atmosphere not many have seen this side of the Atlantic. This place is also BYOB which can save you money at the same time! Antico uses community seating so you most likely will be sitting next to people you don’t know at your same table. Which is ok for first dates or blind dates if you want to avoid awkward silences. And even if there are any you can fill your mou with pizzas that look like this

  • Café Intermezzo: After you’ve taken your date partner to get some awesome pizza in a probably crowded environment due to Antico’s popularity head up Peachtree Street to Cafe Intermezzo’s new Midtown location. This quaint European themed spot offers delicious dessert, food, and tons of different cocktails. The desert is definitely the best thing here closely followed by the cocktails (especially the several types of alcoholic hot chocolate; you really can’t go wrong with that). The menu and the drink menu are booklets so the choices are endless. My favorite that reminds me of Paris is the Nutella and strawberry crepe and the always classic Nutella banana crepe. The lights are dim and the candles on the table provide an intimate atmosphere where you can get to know each other over great food.

  • The One Stop Shop Date: Or if you would prefer to go to one place and have all this combined try out Cinebistro in Town Brookhaven. This is not your typical food and movie theater as the food here is surprisingly awesome. You arrive at the theater about an hour before your movie start time (valet parking is available) and enjoy delicious classic cocktails at the bar for 30 minutes. Then your movie is called over the intercom and you enter the theater where the chairs are love seat like in pairs of two with pull up trays to set your food down. I like the fact that all the serving is done before the actual movie starts so that your viewing of the movie is not interrupted by people walking around, loud eaters, or dropped trays. You drink, eat, enjoy the movie, and when you leave you get after dinner mints. If you choose to extend the night you can always choose to go back to the bar and talk some more. Voila. A tidy date all wrapped up in a pretty package for you.
Let me know your suggestions for date nights inside and outside of Atlanta!
