If you’re in a rut for your Holiday or New Years look check out this cute set I just discovered from MAC containing pigments and glitters. Nothing says the end of the year like some sparkle! This is from their Nocturnals set for Holiday 2013.

This also makes a great last minute gift as it comes packaged in a very chic black box with white and gold trim. Perfect for the makeup addict in your life.

The set contains two glitters that are .14 oz each and three pigments that are .09 oz each and retails for $32.50. A full size MAC pigment contains .26 oz of pigment and retails for $21. I really like the size of the jars in here because a little pigment goes A LONG way so there’s really no need for a full size jar, and you get to try three different colors out!

I did not swatch the glitters because I figured everyone is familiar with your standard black and gold loose glitter looks like :).

If you’re unfamiliar with pigments they contain highly concentrated color when compared to regular eyeshadows. You can also use them for a variety of things; not just on your eyes. I will warn you that if you get any of the darker shades on fabric they will stain like crazy. I really like using Naked pigment for a subtle wash of color on the lip for a festive look in the daytime. Museum Bronze played a big part in my Birthday makeup this year for Vegas and can really wake up a brown smokey eye. Copper Sparkle is my favorite and looks amazing on brown eyes especially paired with MAC’s Coppering eyeshadow.
