On May 15th MAC relaunched the Limited Edition Marilyn Monroe collection at select Macy’s stores and online throughout the country. The collection features lipsticks, dazzleglasses, eye shadows, nail polishes, blush, and more. inspired by the legendary old Hollywood star. This collection was released some time last year and is currently available (if things are still in stock!) at Macy’s stores that have MAC counters.

My first years of college I had two posters up in my room: one of Audrey Hepburn from Breakfast at Tiffany’s and one of Marilyn Monroe from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. You know the scene where she sings “Diamond’s Are a Girl’s Best Friend”? I’ve always been a fan of Marilyn’s style (always so va-va-voom) above all else so I had to pick up something from this collection.

MAC Marilyn Monroe Deeply Adored and Love Goddess Lipsticks

The packaging on the lipsticks are the standard MAC bullet shape but in a shiny form as opposed to a matte that permanent shades come in. The cap and the outside shell of the box has Marilyn’s signature and the actual lipstick tube has her picture on it. I will probably be keeping the packaging long after I use up the lipstick just because it’s so adorable.

Deeply Adored: Last week I feel in love with RiRi Woo…and this week I am in a relationship with Deeply Adored. I’ve been wanting to try my hand at everyday darker lipsticks and leave it to me to be in love with a limited edition color. MAC describes this color as a deep scarlet. Doesn’t that sound fun?? I think so. It’s a deep rich red and it makes your teeth look so white. Love love love. And this plays right into my Great Gatsby obsession at the moment so I’m all over this shade.

Love Goddess: So far all of my MAC lipsticks are matte finishes. This one is a first for me as a satin finish and I think I like it. It’s definitely more hydrating than matte finishes but in my tests I’m not sure these last as long as mattes. Love Goddess is a reddish pink that’s not quite dark and not too bright; right in the middle. You get the best of both worlds with this one. I think this shade is a bit more wearable for work than the bright pinks like Embrace Me.

Were you able to pick anything up from this collection?
