Some of my favorite people to watch on YouTube are from across the pond in the UK. The beauty girls over there are always raving about Sleek MakeUP and how inexpensive it is for the quality and they always have these awesome blushes, palettes, and contour kits. After having product envy for one day too long I finally decided to order some makeup from across the pond!

I’ve heard horror stories from girls here in the US ordering from Sleek; hold ups at customs, extremely long shipping process, unresponsive customer service, etc. Luckily I had no issue with ordering or shipping at all which was a blessing. This did take nearly 2 weeks to get here including time from placing the order and when it was actually shipped so that was pretty impressive to me especially for this coming from so far away. American girls take note though; certain eyeshadow palettes (mostly the bright neon ones) will not ship to the USA due to FDA regulations. Shipping was only $6.05 on my order which is cheaper than some shipping I pay for items domestically (interesting, that).

I ordered a total of 4 items and today’s post reviews two of them:

Blush (or Blusher as they say in the UK)

Sleek Makeup Blush in Flamingo

Sleek Makeup’s packing is well….very sleek. I like the shiny logo on top of the matte black packaging. I heard how crazy pigmented Sleek blushes were so of course I had to see for myself. I selected this blush in Flamingo which is a gorgeous medium pink. The powder is very finely milled so a little goes a LONG way when applying this blush.

When Blended this blush is an absolute stunner on dark skin. This was only $5.99 and I am kicking myself that I did not order more! That price for a blush this pigmented (and also kind of resembles a NARS blush) is insane.

Face Form

YouTube girls seem to go nuts over the Sleek Contouring products. After using this for the last few weeks I can definitely see why; this thing is amazing. By the way, check out the packaging up there…why doesn’t drugstore makeup in the States come in such pretty boxes??!

This was the most expensive thing in my order coming in at a whopping $12.49. The Face Form contains a contour color, a highlight, and a bronzer in the medium (there is also a dark) shade. The two lighter shades (Fair, and Light) have a contour color, a highlight, and a blush. I like that all three products are together because it makes it more likely that I will use all three products at once as opposed to reaching for a separate highlighter or contour powder etc.

Again, very pigmented and silky smooth powders dominate this palette. I adore the contour color but I have to use a very light hand with it because it is a tad dark for my skin. The highlighter is a nice alternative to the usual white highlighters that do not do brown skin any favors. As for what they call a bronzer I haven’t been using it all over my face; I went rogue and started using it as an eyeshadow (amazing color!) and now I can’t bring myself to use it for anything else!

I was surprised at how dark the contour color was in Medium. Here in the States I’m used to always defaulting to whatever the brand defines as “Dark” which in many cases isn’t that dark to begin with. That’s one of my favorite things about Sleek Makeup; they are brown girl friendly! Make sure you check back later in the week as I will be reviewing the i-Divine eyeshadow palettes from Sleek.
